This is a great opportunity to join the Information Governance and Records Service in a new role supporting the Head and Deputy Head of Information Governance and Records.
This is a busy and varied role and we are seeking a highly organised and detail driven Information Governance Officer. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory and policy requirements whilst supporting best practice for data quality, security and lifecycle management.
Working in one of the Trust's key support functions, you will play an important role in helping colleagues deliver exceptional standards of patient care and customer service.
Main duties of the job
The prime purpose of this role is to work closely with the Head and Deputy Head of Information Governance and Records in the development and implementation of the Trust's Information Governance Framework, including but not limited to the information asset owner system, policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for carrying out work to ensure that the Trust complies with all relevant legislation in relation to information governance.
The post holder will also oversee as a line manager the day to day work of the FOI and Privacy Officer.

The post holder will be expected to work with minimal direct supervision and manage their own workload.
To act as a subject matter specialist supporting the management of the day to day workload within the IG team.
To support the development of the Trusts performance against the requirements of the annual Data Security & Protection Toolkit assessment.
To support the IG & Records Team in the processing of data subject rights, including the maintenance of a register.
To support the Information Governance and Records Team in more general terms with any such activity as may be necessary to support the functions of the Trust.

- Degree or Equivalent level of proven experience of working in Information Governance
- Intermediate knowledge of MS packages, such as the International Computer Driving License
- Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner (level 4) or equivalent knowledge, training, education or experience in similar role
