Job summary

We're looking for an enthusiastic and people-focusedClinical Systems Floorwalkerto support staff across the Trust in using our digital clinical systems with confidence. You'll provide both on-site and remote support, assist with floorwalking activities, and play an important part in ensuring our clinical systems are used safely and effectively. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

Previous experience in clinical systems, digital support, or NHS settings is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate the right approach and willingness to learn.

Post available with a start date from April 2026 for a 12 month fixed term contract.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist the Clinical Systems Training team in the building of the floorwalking schedule/plan.
  • To deliver floorwalking activities onsite or remotely in line with the schedule & plan.
  • To keep a log of floorwalking issues identified to pass across to the wider clinical systems team and service desk.
  • To assist services with identification and planning of any further support needs should any be identified.

Job responsibilities

To attend regular training sessions provided by the Clinical Systems Training team and Suppliers to gain and maintain specialist knowledge of the functionality and application of the Trusts system(s).

To support and assist Clinical Systems training in the creation of floorwalking plans and rotas.

Provide floorwalking support on site at various locations and/or remotely to staff who require it.

To assist with the booking of resources (rooms, etc.) across various sites of the trust in order to deliver the floorwalking activities.

Assist in resolving a wide range of often complex system user queries which requires careful analysis in order to be able to give the correct advice whilst being mindful of relevant Trust policies and legal requirements.

To monitor requests for additional floorwalking requirements and assist with getting them built into the overall plans.

To assist with the forward planning of resources to operate the floorwalking service, including ordering of service materials & resources.

To assist with the organisation and planning of floorwalking events across various sites e.g. drop in sessions, remote help sessions.

To host and deliver floorwalking and any supporting events.

Help with communication to a variety of people on a range of matters impacting support and keep accurate and complete records of activity, schedules and issues being raised consistent with the Trusts policies and procedures.

Communicate and articulate effectively to staff who are not technical in order to resolve issues and coach them in using the system(s) effectively.

Escalate queries appropriately to senior colleagues.

Ensure all issues & incidents are logged, providing the right amount of detail from often complex scenarios to enable the timely investigation and resolution of the issue.

Clearly document resolutions to issues in order to help build a knowledge base to be shared with other areas of Clinical Systems and Service Desk.

Provide and receive complex and sensitive information to work colleagues using tact and diplomacy.

Minimise own and others health, safety and security risks while following procedures to report incidents that put health, safety and security at risk.

Make changes in own practice and offer suggestions for improving services and pass on to the appropriate person.

Maintain quality in own work and encourage others to do so while working as an effective and responsible team member and prioritise own workload and organise own work to meet timescales ensuring they are in line with the floorwalking schedules.
