Due to an increase in our activity Stroud Day Surgery Team are looking to recruit to various roles across the Unit. We are particularly keen in hearing from scrub and anaesthetic/recovery practitioners, however applications are also welcome for our Day Surgery Ward.

Working in Day Surgery will help you maintain a good work life balance, enjoy the structure of elective procedures in a small but busy modern and spacious environment, with plentiful opportunities and the support to develop personally and professionally. The service and specialities offered are constantly developing to meet the needs of the local communities. We offer a wide range of surgical specialities including General, Urology, Breast, Trauma and Orthopaedics to name a few.

Stroud is a beautiful market town in a semi-rural position that has the added bonus of being in close proximity to the M5 motorway and is also serviced by excellent train links to London, Bristol and the South West; our site offers plentiful free parking at all times. We currently provide a service from Monday to Friday

Main duties of the job

The role of the Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or Registered Nurse (RN) requires you to function effectively as a member of the peri-operative team to ensure the safe provision and development of an efficient and high-quality service. You will be a key member of the peri-operative team ensuring that patients receive excellent standards of care. You will be confident in delivering peri-operative care and will have a broad knowledge and skill base.

You will be driven to ensure the standards of care you deliver are effective, current and evidenced-based and enjoy working within a small team putting the patient at the heart of everything that you do.

Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
