We are very excited to be looking to recruit a part time Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Children and Young People's Physiotherapy team here in Gloucestershire. We can offer you the opportunity to further your paediatric physiotherapy career within our supportive, experienced and friendly physiotherapy team.
The service provides Physiotherapy across the county for children and young people from birth - 19 years, presenting with a range of needs including neurological, developmental and musculoskeletal conditions. We work in partnership with children, young people, their families and carers in a variety of settings including special and mainstream schools, patient's homes and community clinics. The service also provides cover to the paediatric inpatient unit at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.The caseload of the post holder and travel required will be based on service need, and will provide opportunities to develop clinical skills with a wide range of childhood conditions in a variety of settings. We are committed to supporting CPD, and you will be supported with regular clinical supervision.
Main duties of the job
A Band 6 Physiotherapist participates as a member of the Children and Young People's Physiotherapy Team managing a clinical caseload within the acute and/ or community setting. Support and supervision will be provided via various methods. The post holder may provide supervision for Band 5 physiotherapists, and support workers.
The post holder will consolidate their clinical experience, develop their specialist clinical practice and participate in continuing professional development.
This is a countywide service for children aged 0-19 years. The service is provided in a range of settings including clinics, special and mainstream schools, special and mainstream nurseries, opportunity groups, playgroups and in the child's own home. Inpatients are also seen the Children's Centre (GRH). The post holder will also be required to participate in cover for the Children's Physio Direct telephone advice line on a rota basis.
All qualified physiotherapy staff will be asked to provide cover for annual leave, sickness absence etc in both the acute or community setting.
This is a part time post (22.5 hours p/week). It will be necessary for the post holder to work Mondays, covering the multidisciplinary Rheumatology clinic at Cheltenham General Hospital.
This service is countywide. Working locations may be reviewed and changed as the needs of the team and service require. The post holder may work independently in locations away from a base at times.
