Are you a passionate and experienced registered professional trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and want to be at the forefront of service innovation within CAMHS? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for a skilled and motivated clinician to lead our well-established Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) DBT pathway in Gloucestershire. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow a specialist service that is already making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a forward-thinking, supportive, and values-driven CAMHS team
- Work in a service that prioritises psychological therapies and is committed to innovation and quality care
- Collaborate with other pathway leads to ensure a cohesive, joined-up approach across CAMHS
- Play a key role in shaping the future of DBT delivery for children, young people, and their families across Gloucestershire
This role sits within our core CAMHS team, offering high-quality mental health services to under-18s. We believe in nurturing talent, encouraging professional growth, and giving our staff the autonomy and support to thrive.
Main duties of the job
Registered healthcare professional with appropriate qualifications.
Trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and experience working within a CAMHS DBT program, as outlined in the person specification.
Ability to manage a caseload of DBT clients, with flexibility to support non-DBT cases as needed.
Willingness to work regularly outside standard hours to facilitate multi-family skills groups.
Strong knowledge and experience delivering CAMHS DBT programs and interventions.
Skilled in conducting specialist assessments and formulations, addressing the full spectrum of children and young people's needs with clarity around potential differential diagnoses.
Capacity to clearly articulate a child's needs within the multi-disciplinary team and wider professional network, offering consultation when appropriate.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and training skills.
Understanding of the roles of various professional agencies in supporting the emotional, behavioural, and relational needs of children, with the ability to facilitate appropriate step-down care.
Proven experience in leading a CAMHS DBT program, including managing parent and young person skills groups.
Extensive background working within Core CAMHS, providing assessment and intervention for young people with high-level needs within the CPA framework.
Experience providing clinical supervision to colleagues
About us
We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.
Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:
- 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
- 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
- 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.
This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
