Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic & motivated professional to join the team, based within the Trust's wider Learning & Development Team.
This is a varied role where the successful candidate will be working to ensure staff have the skills & competence needed to deliver the best possible standards of care. You will be involved in the design, delivery & evaluation of a range of online & face-to-face programmes. The training topics covered are varied, but include clinical induction, safeguarding, clinical risk & Mental Capacity Act training.
This role is ideal for anyone looking to move from a hands-on clinical role but wanting to utilise the skills & experience gained within mental health and/or learning disability services. You need to have a relevant professional qualification in Health and/or Social Care & some teaching experience. A passion for education & a willingness to embrace new technology is key as we seek to use technology to enhance the learners experience both online & face-to-face. Support will be given to the successful candidate to develop their skills & confidence in all aspects of the role.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to:
- Design, develop and deliver innovative education programmes including written course materials and guides to meet the needs of services provided by the Trust. These will be based on identified service needs and up-to-date evidence bases
- Develop and regularly review programmes and pathways for learning based on law, national policy and guidance, and the Trust's Training Plan(s)
- Seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery and obtaining and analysing feedback
- Ensure effective use of educational resources to ensure training compliance targets are met
- Promote social inclusion and reduce inequalities in health opportunities through training and education of the Trust's workforce
- L3 Award Education & Training Course (or equivalent), Practice Assessor module, Practice Educator, Practice Assessor or Practice Supervisor experience may be considered if willing to achieve further qualification to teach at an accredited standard.
