Job summary
If you're someone who gets excited about using data to make real, tangible differences in people's lives, this could be the perfect role for you.
This isn't just another data job. It's a chance to be part of something that truly matters--supporting people as they move from hospital care back into their homes or helping them regain their independence in the community. You'd be joining the Home First & Reablement service, part of the Physical Health directorate at Gloucestershire Care Services, which plays a crucial role in helping people recover and stay well at home after illness or injury.
The work you'll be doing will directly support that goal. By turning complex data into useful, easy-to-understand insights, you'll help teams on the ground make better decisions, improve the quality of care, and ensure services run more smoothly. Whether it's helping clinical teams monitor outcomes, assisting managers in planning and deploying resources more efficiently, or supporting senior leadership in shaping long-term strategy, your work will touch every part of the service.
Main duties of the job
The individual appointed to this role will play a critical part in supporting operational effectiveness and continuous improvement within the directorate through robust data analysis, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is key to ensuring that both routine and ad hoc data needs are met efficiently, supporting evidence-based decision-making across the organisation. The post holder will take ownership of designing, maintaining, and updating a variety of digital tools and reporting mechanisms to provide high-quality, accurate, and timely data. These insights will directly support clinical teams, management staff, and senior leadership in their efforts to enhance patient care, monitor performance, and drive organisational priorities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in data management and analysis, proficiency with analytical and visualisation software, and an ability to communicate complex information in an accessible manner. They must be proactive, adaptable, and capable of working in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift quickly in response to operational needs.
About us
We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.
Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:
- 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
- 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
- 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.
This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
