T-Level Industry Placement Coordinator officer (IPCO)

The closing date is 21 September 2025

Job summary

Please note that this role is open to candidates currently working within Gloucestershire ICB, Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The Industry Placement Coordinator Officer (IPCO) is a strategic and operational role within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, supporting the expansion of T Level industry placements across the county's health and care system. Employed by GHC and hosted by its Learning and Development Team, the IPCO works on behalf of the One Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board, reporting to the ICS Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Programme Lead.

The IPCO advocates for T Level placements as a vital workforce development tool, engaging senior leaders and service managers to embed placements into organisational practice. The role involves developing sustainable placement models, identifying new opportunities, and aligning them with service needs across clinical and non-clinical sectors.

Key responsibilities include building relationships with education providers and community organisations, promoting careers in health and care, and supporting widening participation. The IPCO also leads on creating system-wide frameworks, streamlining operational processes, and ensuring high-quality placement delivery. Collaboration across NHS trusts, social care, and education partners is central to the role, alongside monitoring and sharing best practice nationally.

Main duties of the job

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including education and care providers.
  • Lead or contribute to working groups, projects, and initiatives, offering analytical expertise.
  • Develop and manage data systems for accurate and timely reporting.
  • Communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the Department for Education and other stakeholders.
  • Provide specialist advice to programme leads to support T-Level Industry Placements (IPs).
  • Monitor T-Level IPs, including cohort tracking and documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR, TEL, workforce planning, communications, and external partners to share strategic insights.
  • Identify and engage target groups through outreach and marketing.
  • Maintain accurate records of student outcomes and destinations.
  • Support business planning to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate logistics for recruitment, inductions, workshops, and site visits.
  • Create promotional and evaluation materials, including case studies.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout all activities.
  • Work with NHS, social care, education providers, and local partners to ensure a coordinated approach to T-Level activities.
  • Provide regular briefings and contribute to relevant working groups.
  • Stay informed on careers engagement policies and assess their impact.
  • Ensure IT equipment is secure, especially during travel and site visits.

About us

We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.

Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:

  • 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
  • 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
  • 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
