ICT Physiotherapy Assistant

The closing date is 22 June 2025

Job summary

Gloucestershire Health & Care deliver community health services for adults & older people with multidisciplinary teams; closely aligned with Primary Care Networks and the aspirations for place-based integrated care. The Integrated Community Team (ICT) consists of nursing, therapy and Reablement teams working closely alongside Adult Social Care colleagues to provide support to people within their own homes and within bed based Reablement units. We work closely with GPs, local communities, acute and community hospitals and other partners, to enable people to live as independently and for as long as possible, within their own home. We are a clinically-led organisation where individuals are valued for their unique professional contribution to ensuring best patient care. We actively encourage staff training and development in the trust, and offer a welcoming and supportive team.

As this is a community-based role you will be required to have a full Driving Licence valid for the UK and your own vehicle for business use.

Main duties of the job

The ICT is made up of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and nurses, and support workers who work closely with the reablement team. The service provides a 'personalised care' approach to patients in their own homes, and at times in clinic settings, to offer physiotherapy interventions to optimise quality of life and function. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to see urgent patients, those on the Home First pathway, and those requiring core physiotherapy intervention.

The post-holder will work with a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal, respiratory, and neurological areas of practice. They will take delegated work from registered therapists, and take the lead on some triaged cases; working alone, jointly, and also in a group exercise setting.

About us

We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust.

Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:

  • 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
  • 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
  • 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
