Job summary

The adult Autism and ADHD assessment service are pleased to be offering an opportunity for a registered Nurse associate to join our expanding and developing service.

We are looking for a registered Nurse associate who has a passion and interest in supporting those in our local population who are prescribed ADHD medications. The role is part of overall service development improving the experience for patients prescribed ADHD medications in accordance with NICE guidelines.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to be part of the developing and growing area of specialist neurodevelopmental assessments in Gloucestershire

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role are to deliver annual reviews / physical health observations including weight, blood pressure, heart rate and completion of a physical health check proforma covering the effectiveness and possible side effects relating to medication prescribed for ADHD. The suitable candidate will be able to work independently, have good communication, observational skills and be fully competent at taking baseline physical health checks and confident in discussing patients' experiences of their medication (guided by a proforma). You will be working unsupervised, receiving support from line-managers and clinical specialists as appropriate. You will also be required to work closely with senior clinical specialists in the team to ensure ongoing development of the role, accurate and safe recording of physical observations, side effects and concerns noted or raised.
