We have an exciting opportunity within our Children's Community Training Nursing Team!
The post holder will work across Gloucestershire in a countywide capacity, to deliver training in a range of healthcare skills e.g. enteral tube care, general medication administration and emergency medication administration.
The service predominantly delivers training in special educational needs settings in Gloucestershire.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Develop, co-ordinate and support the provision of high-quality clinical education and training for a wide community of partner organisations.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of the training that is delivered.
- Liaise with partner organisations to report staff who have been trained and are competent to deliver care in the specific areas trained.
- Contribute to the development of education and training resources to ensure that the training delivered remains up to date and relevant.
- Demonstrate commitment to working with team colleagues to develop a strong multidisciplinary ethos and focus on delivering high quality clinical services.
The post holder will work during normal office hours.

- Based centrally and drive across Gloucestershire in a countywide capacity, to deliver training on a range of clinical interventions across a range of setting, using training equipment and materials provided by GHC. e.g. gastrostomies and emergency epilepsy medication. The training required will be outlined by educational settings and the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
- Work in special education settings, mainstream educational settings, independent education settings, nursery settings and parent/carers home as required to deliver the training required.
- Attend training sessions that are arranged by the Specialist nurses to facilitate the continued update of knowledge and skills.
- Ensure own knowledge and competency is up to date on the range of training areas which are delivered.
- Liaise and work with schools and other community settings to deliver training, provide support and advice for children with complex medical needs, especially in schools, up to the age of 18 years or 19 if in full time education. This includes training carers in the wider community.
- Maintain accurate competency records of training delivered and plan for the future training needing to be delivered.
- Ensure regular attendance at service wide and other CPD/core competency training events.

- Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist professional knowledge and knowledge of mentorship, education and development practice, to postgraduate diploma level equivalent.
- Demonstrate current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, Mental Health or Learning Disability)
- Recognised Teaching and assessing Qualification e.g. ENB 997 or 998 (Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice) and/ or mentorship course
