Job summary
The Trust is seeking a Speciality Doctor to join our team on one of 4 General Adult acute wards on the Wotton Lawn Hospital site in Gloucester as well as supporting in the local community.
Wotton Lawn Hospital in Gloucester has 66 acute beds and a 10-bedded intensive care unit. Kingsholm Ward is a 15 bed working age male acute inpatient ward. Two days of your working week will involve working with the Gloucester crisis team, this is based nearby to Wotton Lawn at Pullman Place, covering service users from the City of Gloucester and the rural Forest of Dean area.
Main duties of the job
When working on Kingsholm Ward you will work along side the Consultant / Responsible Clinician for your inpatients. You will be expected to provide senior review of the inpatients, making autonomous management decisions under Consultant supervision. You will also provide support to Consultant led ward rounds. You will be expected to participate in Mental Health Act work including report writing and attendance at Mental Health Act Managers' Meetings and Review Tribunals, with support from the consultant.
When working in the Gloucester Crisis Team you will work as part of an experienced MDT and will provide psychiatric assessment and develop initial management plans for patients newly taken on by the team, as well as follow up reviews. Consultant advice and supervision will be available from the Team's Consultant Psychiatrist.
