Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for three successful candidates to join our Primary Mental Health service in the role of Team Managers for the MHIC Teams (Mental Health Intermediate Care). These are primary care level teams of nurses and core profession practitioners delivering assessment, sign posting and treatment across the county of Gloucestershire by telephone, video and face to face. The county has a diverse population and local services aim to meet the needs of city and rural communities.
The Team Manager roles will support the existing local structures as well as lead the development of local community partnership working with PCNs and individual GP practices. They will also work with the Senior Leadership Team to build sustainable development for the service in line with the local Community Transformation agenda.
We currently operate three localities covering the whole county and are appointing a Team Manager in the following locations:
- MHICT West based at Pullman Place, Gloucester
- MHICT North based at Stanway, Cheltenham
- MHICT South based at Park House, Stroud
Visibility in the teams and on site are an important part of the role, along with direct clinical support of services users.
The Primary Mental Health Service works in close partnership with NHS Talking Therapies, and a key element of the Team manager role is maintaining a strong and efficient clinical interface with the local NHS Talking Therapy Teams.
Main duties of the job
- Lead in the operational and clinical management of the Primary Care MHICT Service, which includes close liaison with NHS Talking Therapies, and the Primary Care Networks.
- Provide day to day management, leadership and line management to staff including nurses and core professionals.
- Manage the delivery of specialist assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of primary care in the community for service users.
- Demonstrate enhanced competence in complex decision making, assessment and the management of clinical needs
- Collect and collate data / information effectively for the purpose of audit, research and service performance particularly for the NHS Talking Therapies and Primary Care MHICT interface
- Working in partnership with the ARRS service lead providing clinical cover where required in order to support the organisational partnership between MHICT and ARRS
- Mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students
- Work in partnership with service users, carers and other agencies to ensure effectiveness of outcomes
