You need to be able to work over a shift system which includes early (8-4pm) and late (12-8pm) shifts across 7 days including weekends (1 in 4) and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nurse you will work as part of an Integrated Community Team alongside our MDT colleagues undertaking care of people in their homes across the diverse range of interventions and case management opportunities that community nursing offers, including complex care situations, chronic disease and end of life care.

To excel in this role you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make clinical decisions and a willingness to develop your potential. You will require current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse. Post-registration experience is helpful but not essential and we have an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses with Practice Facilitator support.

Future progression opportunities include District Nurse Qualification at Specialist Practice level (allowing you to lead a team of Community Nurses) and Assessment and Prescribing modules.

Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified; Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).

Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
