Job summary

Neonatal Junior Sister / Neonatal Developmental Junior Sister (Band 6 / Developmental Band 6)

Are you looking for a new leadership challenge in your Neonatal career?

We are pleased to offer exciting opportunities for both Band 6 and Developmental Band 6 roles, with full-time and part-time hours available. Both positions are supported by our Practice Development (PD) team and senior nursing staff on the ward, who will provide a bespoke orientation programme tailored to support your professional development and career progression within the unit.

The Developmental Band 6 role is ideal for an experienced Band 5 nurse who holds the relevant Qualified in Specialty (QIS) award and is looking to develop the skills required to progress into a Band 6 position. You will be supported through an individualised development plan, with dedicated guidance to complete the required competencies over a six-month period.

We welcome applications for this exciting opportunity to join the Neonatal team at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Our expanded and refurbished Level 2 Neonatal Unit, within the Surrey, Sussex and Kent Neonatal Network, has a total of 21 cots. We provide care for more than 450 babies each year across our intensive care, high dependency and special care nurseries, alongside a busy Transitional Care area and a well-established Neonatal Outreach service.
