Ultrasound audit lead

Job summary

Manage the planning, organisation, delivery and assessment of the audit and research programmes across sites for all ultrasound staff working in the Radiology department in conjunction with the Ultrasound Leads. Organise study days at the trust, securing venues, liaising with speakers and/or trainers and ensuring good attendance from external healthcare staff.

Lead on developing Ultrasound protocols for the department and help set standards for practice in liaison with the Ultrasound Leads.

Lead the development and implement innovative and creative peer review programmes and training material to support staff across all sites and clinical environments, as well as to a diversity of patient presentations. Liaise with the SouthEast imaging academy on training opportunities.

Liaise and advise on education and practice development for the ultrasound team.

Input and contribute to the strategic development of education and policy making in the wider radiology service.

Deliver and undertake formal lectures and specialist presentations on topics including ultrasound technique, physics and patient care to large groups in the department (at audit, training and CPD sessions), in the hospital and externally (conferences, higher education institutions, BSc and post graduate courses).

When required, perform a range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures throughout the department, managing patient priority as appropriate.
