Job summary
The post holder will be an integral member of the Divisional management team, supporting the Divisional Chief Nurse in the delivery of key performance targets and high-quality evidence-based nursing care. She/he will be accountable for the provision of effective professional nursing leadership to a team of specialist nurses and provide pro-active resource management for the clinical group. As an experienced practitioner, the post holder will be expected to create, lead, and maintain an environment of continuous quality improvement and professional development, ensuring that critical care nursing practices are regularly reviewed and that service developments are implemented when necessary.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities will also contribute to the delivery of the NHS Plan, modernisation, Improving Working Lives, and patient/public involvement/participation agendas throughout the clinical group. This will be supported by high quality effective communications with all key groups of staff.
The post holder is expected to:
- Act as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and demonstration of competent and accountable clinical practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary clinical practice, exploring new ideas and encouraging the introduction of positive, evidence-based practice.
- Maintain and enhance high standards of patient care through the implementation of continuous quality improvement initiatives and regular service evaluation that involves patients/users of the service.
- Demonstrate patient centred values.
- Actively supports the Divisional Chief Nurse in the delivery of key performance indicators.
