We are seeking a motivated and inspirational Divisional Chief Nurse to lead our nursing team within the Surgical Division here at SASH. As a key member of the senior leadership at the Trust, you will be responsible for the effectiveness of professional leadership and development of nursing within the division to facilitate the delivery of excellent clinical practice and high-quality care.As part of the divisional triumvirate, you will work alongside the Chief of Service and Divisional Director to shape and clearly define the vision for the division, with specific accountability for nursing standards.We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate leader highly visible, accessible and influential figure on whom staff, patients, families and carers can rely who is committed to maintaining and building upon the outstanding service that SASH is known for.As a proactive collaborator, you will promote the development of a culture that embodies excellence of care, improves access, meets the needs of the local population and involves users in planning, implementation and evaluation of services.
Main duties of the job
As Divisional Chief Nurse, you will be professionally accountable for all registered nurses within the division and ensure professional workforce and development plans are aligned to service need. Through strong leadership and change management skills, you will collaborate with the Triumvirate to implement and evaluate innovative models of care delivery that meet the needs of service users, the Trust Board, the Integrated Care System and regulators.
The post holder will work closely with the Chief Nurse and Deputy Chief Nurse(s) to embed and deliver the nursing and midwifery strategy, providing assurance to the Chief Nurse and Trust Board through quality measures and outcome indicators and ensuring alignment with Divisional service strategies. You will be responsible for developing systems and process that are effective and efficient in the delivery of the clinical governance and risk management and have professionally accountability for the quality and safety of service delivery within the division, maintaining professional standards and adherence to the NMC Code of Conduct.
