We have an exciting opportunity for an ST1/2 level Trust Doctor in training or a non-training grade doctor interested in Histopathology as a career.
The post is within the Histopathology department of our innovative NHS Trust that is regarded as Outstanding by the CQC and an exemplar NHS England pathology network.
Applications are invited for a whole-time Trust Doctor post with the aim of providing the opportunity for gaining experience and insight into the specialty of Histopathology, and for developing basic knowledge and skills in Histopathology while also supporting the department in its day-to-day clinical and governance activities.
We are looking for applicants with enthusiasm and drive, who are good communicators and team-workers, who foster productive working relationships with colleagues, and who are committed to patients, their safety and the quality of the services we provide.
The successful candidate will be supervised by the consultant Head of Department and will join a team of 6 consultants 13 laboratory and administrative staff. The main laboratory is at the Royal Surrey County hub, with cut-up and reporting being retained at East Surrey Hospital. A programme to roll out digital pathology imaging across the BSPS network commenced during 2023.
Main duties of the job
The Trust is a collaborating partner of Berkshire &Surrey Pathology Services (BSPS), which is a single-managed pathology network spanning the hospitals, Trusts and primary care services of Surrey Heartlands, Frimley, and Berkshire West integrated care systems, from Redhill to Reading.
