Job summary

Painters and Decorators are expected to undertake all tasks relevant to the trade.

The Supervisors role is to oversee a team of painters to ensure operations run smoothly. The role will also require tradesmen to undertake tasks from other disciplines. Decorators have reached a level of competence to undertake elements of building, electrical and mechanical tasks.

Carry out day to day re-decoration repairs, using correct materials, finish to match existing dcor.

Manage the redecoration of wards or departments. Liaise with the departmental/senior managers to minimise disruption whilst re-decoration work is undertaken. Due to the unpredictable nature of wards/units - this has to be reviewed regularly.

Undertake site surveys and estimate time required to complete Unit/Ward or other areas, and feedback this to Estates Supervisors for forward planning.

Estimate paint and materials for the job; advise the Estates Supervisors to make regular purchases to maintain stock levels for continuity of work.

Provides training and support to trade staff on specialist plant and equipment to ensure work carried out meets statutory and regulatory compliance.

Complies and implements operational, technical, Trust Health & Safety standard policies and procedures.

A high level of dexterity is required in the use of all relevant tools, machinery and equipment. Communication using electronic devices is essential to maintain accurate records, job planning and management systems.
