Job summary

We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team as Nursing Assistants at East Surrey Hospital within the Medicine Division. Whilst previous care experience would be an advantage, what is more important is that you can demonstrate an empathetic, caring and proactive approach and have experience of working with people.

These positions provide an opportunity for individuals who are interested in moving into a frontline hospital care role, delivering the highest quality of person-centred nursing care for our patients.

Training will be provided and successful candidates will complete the care certificate, and have the opportunity to apply for a level 3 care qualification in the future.

The Acute Medical Unit is a fast-paced and dynamic unit where you will work as part of a dedicated team providing support to the nurses. The unit comprises of 2 separate wards with a total of 65 in- patient beds and also an Ambulatory Emergency Care unit, this provides a same day service to patients referred by their GP or from the Emergency Department. Here patients are assessed, diagnosed and treated in the same day and this helps to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

The AMU sees a huge variety of patients with various healthcare needs. It is a challenging but rewarding environment where you will be required to assist with all aspects of personal care and to ensure all our patients are treated with dignity and respect.
