Job summary

Secondment - 9 months - Medical Secretary, Earlswood Centre, Band 4 08.00 to 16.00 Full Time 37.5 hours

The Earlswood Centre is a dedicated Diabetes and Endocrinology Centre with our own Reception area which forms part of East Surrey Hospital. We are based within a short walking distance from the main hospital with our own free Car Park. You will be part of the Team which looks after the Consultants and Diabetic Specialist Nurse Team at Earlswood. The Centre deals with Diabetic/Endocrinology outpatient appointments the majority of which are run out of Earlswood.

You should have excellent administrative/IT/keyboard and communication skills and the ability and flexibility to adapt to different situations as they arise. Having a passion to provide excellent customer service and patient care with enthusiasm and professionalism is also important. You will be part of the Admin Team that is based at Earlswood and be the first point of contact when patients arrive at the Centre. Ideally you will already have experience working in a busy customer service environment. You will be responsible for checking patients in, dealing with queries - by phone and in person, setting up clinics and booking follow up appointments for the Centre.
