Job summary
To supervise and to provide comprehensive and appropriate support to all clinical coders to ensure that clinical coding is accurate, complete and timely, and that the clinical coding conforms to national standards. To assist the Head of Clinical Coding to develop, maintain and manage a skilled efficient coding team in order to provide high quality clinical coding service within the Trust. To be the IT lead for the department, and ensure that the department is trained on the use of all the IT equipment. To ensure that Clinical Coding deadlines are achieved in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
Engage with clinical and non-clinical teams at all levels to ensure that coded data is accurate and reflect the current practices within the Trust.
To assist the Head of Coding with yearly achievement reviews for all clinical coding staff.
Ensure data quality errors and other service disruptions are identified and resolved or escalated in a timely manner to aid high quality data flows.
Raise any issues/concerns at coding team meetings and suggest possible solutions to problems relating to performance or data quality.
