This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our well established multi-disciplinary Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities.

This post offers an excellent opportunity to work within a vibrant multidisciplinary team who work with adults with learning disabilities. You will be an integral member of a staff team who are passionate about improving the lives of people with learning disabilities, and are continually developing and implementing different approaches to meet peoples' needs.

You will be working in a thriving multi-disciplinary team which promotes the use of the broad range of skills acquired through experience and ongoing training. We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist who ideally has experience of working with people with learning disabilities and additional mental health needs.

Due to the travel involved, we can only welcome applications from people with a current valid driving license who have access to a vehicle for work-related purposes.

Main duties of the job

These CTPLD roles are promoting health and independence for people with learning disabilities by providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, and assisting in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of outcome statistics, and/or other project work as appropriate under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist working within the service. Working within evidence based framework to provide accessible, non-stigmatising, localised service that contributes to the specialist health care of people with learning disabilities. You will be working on one of our clinical pathways (likely dementia assessment) and a vital part of the role will be to support the person with learning disabilities and their families/ support staff to ensure that people maintain a good quality of life.
