Job summary

Runneymede and Spelthorne Community Mental Health Recovery (CMHRS) Team is looking for a Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with the HCPC registration.In our CMHRS we see adults with complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems. The principles and philosophy of care are based on the recovery model and NICE evidenced-based interventions.The successful candidate, you will be responsible for the provision of highly specialist psychology services for this client group. They would be working closely with other psychologists in the team and with multi-disciplinary team members and other teams, e.g. the Home Treatment Team and Inpatient services.You will lead on complex and challenging cases while develop expertise within an area of specialism. You will complete assessments and assign clients to specific care pathways and offer evidence based psychological interventions within each care pathway. You will also supervise junior psychologists, trainees, mental health practitioners . You will receive regular supervision from a principal or consultant psychologist. Please note this is a part time role for 22.5hrs, expect to work at our main office at Chertsey & satellite base at Staines.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and To maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Trust Policies and Procedures. To act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005). To be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures and legislation.
  • To carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions and consultations to support people with specific and complex needs.
  • To actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, to act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for their dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences
  • To work creatively to adapt verbal and written communication to meet the needs of people who use our services
  • To undertake comprehensive risk assessments and develop effective risk management plans for people with complex needs.
