Job summary

As the Assistant Psychologist you will work across two co-produced teams; 22.5 hours at the Surrey and NE Hampshire Recovery College

15 hours at the Psychologically Informed Consultation and Training service (PICT)

The Recovery College consists of clinically trained & lived experience staff who develop and deliver a wide range of psycho-educational courses both virtually and in venues across Surrey and NE Hampshire.

PICT aims to improve the working relationship between professionals and their clients with difficulties associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Through consultation and training, PICT educates and upskills primary care staff across Surrey and NE Hampshire using clinical and lived experience expertise.

You will support & enhance the professional psychological care of people who use services by co-facilitating co-produced psycho-educational courses under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist working within the service.

As a part your tole you will undertake administrative tasks related to both clinical and training data, tasks related to clinical governance & service improvement & other project work as appropriate and agreed with the team leaders and supervising psychologist.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work.

Main duties of the job

To carry out comprehensive assessments, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions under the supervision of a psychologist as part of a holistic approach working in a variety of settings.

To actively work with people who use services, carers, families and staff in implementing the care plan devised by the psychologist.

To act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for peoples' dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.

To take appropriate and immediate action to keep people safe in a crisis or safeguarding situation, reporting back to a senior colleague in a timely manner.

To observe and document any changes in wellbeing of the people that they are supporting, reporting to the professional or team manager any new or change in risk or presentation of the person, and updating risk assessments as required.
