Job summary
Surrey Liaison and Diversion Service are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to lead in assessing and supporting children from the age of 10, and young people to the age of 18. The role is suitable for qualified RMN, and non-qualified Senior Support Workers who have experience of working with Children and Young People.

We support those who have come into contact with the criminal justice system with a caring, compassionate, person-centred approach for all vulnerabilities, initially assessing their needs. You will provide high quality community-based interventions to not only improve health and social care outcomes but also aim to reduce future re-offending.
You will be a strong advocate for CYPs and work collaboratively with Carers, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services, Social Care,Educational Organisations,Youth Justice Service, Court and Police colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
This role requires you to provide expertise guidance and advice, be organised, efficient. The role will be based mainly in the community. At times you will attend police custody, court, schools, colleges. Full driving licence is required as the role is Surrey wide.
Main duties of the job
To understand the needs of vulnerable CYPs based on detailed vulnerability assessments, onward support referrals, providing short term assertive outreach support to children and young people who are involved in the criminal justice system, with the aim of addressing health and social needs, and reducing reoffending. The role will also provide early intervention support working collaboratively with Surrey Police, Magistrates, Judiciary, Youth Justice Teams, Youth Court, Drug and Alcohol Services, Social Services, Schools and Colleges to reduce the risk of offending, by ensuring CYPs have adequate support, providing training and guidance.
This role requires both enhanced DBS clearance and Sussex Police clearances (NPPV level 2), which we will assist the successful candidate to apply for. Essential criteria for clearance: UK resident for over 3 years.
