Staff Nurse - Band 5 About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Staff Nurse to join our team within the People with Learning Disabilities Division. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals with learning disabilities and associated needs, helping them live fulfilling and independent lives. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. The role includes clinical responsibilities, leadership opportunities, and active involvement in service development.
Larkfield Care Homeis a registered care home with nursing designed to meet the needs of up to 6 people, both male and female, who have a learning disability and autism. The home is registered to perform two regulated activities:1 Providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care.2 Treating disease, disorder, or injury.
About YouA registered nurse (RNLD, RMN or RGN) with current NMC registration.
Passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Able to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Committed to inclusive, respectful, and evidence-based care.
A strong communicator and team player.
Main duties of the job
Deliver safe, effective, and personalised care in line with individual care plans.
Act as a keyworker and shift leader, supporting junior staff and students.
Administer medication and support individuals with personal care and health needs.
Promote independence, inclusion, and wellbeing through meaningful activities.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards.
Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of person-centred care.
