Assistant Psychologist -part time, fixed term

Job summary

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of people who use the Centralised Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) service. This is 12 months fixed term, 22.5 hours per week, Tuesday - Thursday.

This will involve contributing to aspects of the DBT programme which includes Assessment, Group, Consult and some DBT-Informed individual work under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. Independent work may also be undertaken according to a plan agreed with the team leader and the supervising psychologist. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of outcome statistics, and/or other project work as appropriate and agreed with the team leader and supervising psychologist.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candiadtes must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work. This includes the travel across any of the our 11 bases.

  • Psychology degree accredited by BPS* at 2.1 or above
  • OR Psychology degree accredited by BPS* at 2.2 and additional relevant Masters qualification
  • OR Degree plus Masters level conversion qualification accredited by BPS*

Experience

  • Experience of working in mental health, either voluntary or paid
  • Experience of working collaboratively in a team
  • Experience of group work/facilitating groups

Desirable

  • Competent in the use of SPSS for Windows including setting up databases, statistical analysis and presentation of results
