Job summary
We are looking for a talented Administrator to join our friendly and supportive team on a permanent, part-time basis. We are looking for a conscientious and reliable person to work 3 days per week within the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service (FOLS).
The Forensic Outreach Liaison Service is a specialist service for people with a mental health condition who pose a serious risk of harm to others. We also offer support to their carers.
We co-ordinate the care of people in the community who are under a restriction order of the Mental Health Act. This involves providing personalised care based on the needs of the individual, and proactively supporting people to develop purpose in their lives including finding voluntary work or paid employment and resolving housing issues.
Our team works closely with our Community Mental Health Recovery Services and our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit in Surrey.
The post includes general office duties consisting of inputting patient details on electronic record system (SystmOne), supporting clinical staff, filing, photocopying, sorting post, scanning and uploading documents, liaising with patients, GPs and medics, stationary and clinical supplies, telephone and typing letters as well as other administrative duties as required.
The successful candidate will have excellent clerical and typing skills and be able to communicate effectively with both patients and staff. Although not essential, knowledge of SystmOne would be desirable.
Main duties of the job
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Administrator as well as to a multidisciplinary team including forensic psychiatrists, community mental health nurses, psychologists and support workers
- Manage outpatient clinics, arranging appointments, cancellations etc as required
- Answer telephone calls and relay any messages in a timely manner
- Receive and respond to e-mails in an appropriate manner, forwarding where necessary
- General administrative tasks, typing/copying/scanning/printing etc
- Check and book rooms for other team members upon request
- Keep up to date with statutory and mandatory training
