Job summary
MyTime Croydon is a Day Service for Adults over the age of 18 years. People who use MyTime Croydon have a learning disability, epilepsy, sensory impairment, complex physical/health needs, and behaviours that challenge.
The job will be within our Learning Disabilities MyTime Service and be based primarily within the MyTime CROYDON Service. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within all the learning disabilities MyTime Services, as need arises
People using our service find our service homely, welcoming, and stimulating. Our staffing team are dedicated to ensuring that all people's needs are cared for with compassion and respect.
The post presents an ideal opportunity for a professional, caring person to work as part of our team, improving the quality of life for the people we support.
The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week, between the hours of 08.00 - 16.00 or 08.30 to 16.30
Main duties of the job
Were looking to recruit to our Team a highly motivated, enthusiastic Senior Support Worker who has the skills to lead and delegate staff, working flexibly within our day service provision.
Candidates must have experience of working in a patient facing role, supporting, and caring for people with a learning disability as well as good knowledge and experience of working in a Team.
Good communication skills, knowledge and awareness of Legislation including Safeguarding, Data Protection, Health Safety at Work Act are essential for this role.
You will also need to have good written skills including a good understanding of Information Technology, as part of this role involves the use of computers, input data as well as completing other necessary training requirements and Care Planning.
Part of a Senior Support Worker's role will be to liaise with other professionals inside / outside of our organisation. You will also be expected to liaise with other Local Authorities.
Our service offers a broad spectrum of tailored day opportunities through centre-based and community activities, helping people to improve their social skills whilst supporting to participate in new experiences.
We remain passionate about people, delivering person-centred care through extensive therapeutic activity-based support.
We encourage people using our service to be actively involved in the planning of their care, supporting individuals to live more meaningful lives by building confidence and friendships.
