Job summary
Are you a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with an interest in improving end of life care? Do you enjoy having an impact through delivering supervision and training to non-psychologist colleagues in physical health? Come and join our Palliative Care Team who are looking for a Psychologist to work with them 0.2WTE (1 day), for 18 months (fixed term). The role will involve a combination of both work from home, and direct work at both Frimley Park and Wexham Park hospital sites. The aim is to enhance the ability of the clinical teams to embed a formulation-based approach and relevant psychological skills in their end of life care. The postholder will not be expected to carry a clinical caseload. SABP and FHFT have an established partnership in the provision of clinical health psychology services across Frimley ICS. You will join a dynamic team of practitioner psychologists working across specialties offering a supportive team environment and CPD opportunities. You will be managed by one of the co-leads (Consultant Clinical Psychologist). The role is suitable for an established 8b clinical psychologist, or an 8a psychologist who can work with an applied psychology model.We are passionate about inclusivity and diversity within our service and welcome applications from all candidates who bring the required competencies and experience. Main duties of the job
Please refer to the job description and job overview:o To plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service and to oversee its clinical governance.o To be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of a team and/or service area.o To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.o To ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.o To demonstrate highly specialist expertise and specialist psychological skills such as specialist formulation and consultation to support people with complex needso To act as supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating and supporting members of the multidisciplinary clinical team, as well as pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements. To participate in new staff induction.o To research national best practice and enable services to benchmark practice against nationally recognised standards - in partnership with people who use services and carers.o To lead in developing and conducting clinical audit and research, maintaining current knowledge of research findings and development within the relevant area of practice.
