This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award winning and nationally accredited Psychiatric Liaison Service. We are looking for specialty doctors in psychiatry who want to join our well established and very welcoming team.

This post is very well supported by two experienced consultant psychiatrists, with many opportunities to develop your experience and career.

Our Offer:

  • NHS Specialty grade £59,175 - £95,400 per annum + £149 fringe + on- call requirement
  • GMC Sponsorship

Main duties of the job

The speciality doctor will be required to supportwith assessments and reviews of patients referred to the psychiatric liaison service, covering both working age adults (18+) and older adults (65+).

If Section 12 approved the successful candidate will be required to support with undertaking Mental Health Act assessments. They will also be required to support with clinical supervision of nursing and other medical staff and to contribute to teaching, audit and quality improvement within the team.

  • Post Graduate qualification in psychiatry, general practice or a medical specialty

Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Able to work in a DGH setting. Able to work with mental health trust pathways. Able to work independently on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience of working in psychiatry at Foundation level or SHO/specialty doctor/ core trainee level. This can be in liaison psychiatry, community services in WAA or OA or acute services such as HTT and inpatient wards.
