Job summary
To be responsible for the 24-hour operation of the residential home, and for the operational delivery of a safe, caring, effective, person-centred service. To always observe best practice guidelines and lead with integrity, professionalism, and empathy, within agreed resource boundaries, to provide optimal standards of care and support for people with a learning disability, mental health difficulties and complex or challenging needs. To assist the Trust in achieving the organisation's Visions and Values. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within all the learning disabilities health services, as need arises.
Main duties of the job
- To participate in assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of interventions as part of a holistic approach working in a variety of
- To act as an advocate and ensure that there is proper regard for peoples' dignity, choice, self-esteem, racial, cultural, sexual and religious needs and preferences.
- To observe and document any changes in wellbeing of the people that they are supporting, reporting to the professional or team manager any new or change in risk or presentation of the person.
- To take appropriate and immediate action to keep people safe in a crisis or safeguarding situation, reporting back to a senior colleague in a timely manner.
- To work within the Positive Behaviour Support framework.
- To work in partnership with people in other health and social care settings.
