Job summary
We are looking to recruitRegisteredandNewly QualifiedMental Health Nurses at The Meadows, West Park Hospital.
The Meadows is a single storey building in the grounds of the Noble Park housing development in the former West Park Hospital site in Epsom.
This is a 24/7 hospital servicewith24 beds availablefor the care ofpeople aged over 65 years who havedementia or organic mental ill-health (i.e. decreased function due to medical or physical disease, rather than a psychiatric illness).
There are three single sex wards, each with eight beds:
- One wardisfor people with mental ill-health (functional, e.g. bipolar or depression)
- Two wards are for people withdementia.
We are a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists and psychology support.
Main duties of the job
My job makes better lives by providing a high quality, caring service that makes a positive and effective contribution to the care pathway of people admitted onto the wards in the acute phase of their illness.
Job Overview
The post holder will be a core member of the multi-disciplinary team, participating in the provision of on-going assessments, care planning, treatment and support of people with serious and enduring mental health problems and people in crisis. He/she will particularly ensure access to and availability of mental health nursing skills to users of mental health services and their families.
