Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an energetic and motivated individual to take up a significant leadership role in our outstanding EIIP Service in West Surrey and NE Hampshire as a Band 8b Principal Clinical / Counselling Psychologist.
The post is part time (22.5 hours a week, over three days) which will include a Monday and Wednesday. The main base is in Unither House, Chertsey.
The successful candidate will be joining a group of friendly, supportive, skilled and creative EIIP colleagues to take up this rewarding post.EIIP offers mental health interventions for people of the age 14-65 who experience their first episode of psychosis. The role involves offering clinical interventions to people under the care of EIIP and their families, clinical and professional supervision and leadership to psychology colleagues, and working closely with the Service Manager and Consultant Psychologist as an integral member of the management team to support the quality standards for EIIP and development of the service.
The post holder also will be expected to utilise research skills for audit, service development and clinically-relevant research and will work as part of an MDT and contribute to the wider team functions.
EIIP West Surrey and NE Hampshire team is based in Chertsey, with a satellite base at Aldershot Centre for Health.
Main duties of the job
- This role will be responsible for leading the psychology provision within the EIIP service, by ensuring relevant clinical supervision is provided to staff, standards of service provision are set, monitored and maintained and that people who use the service, and their carers, are involved in the service in the way they wish to be.
- This role will also deliver high quality psychology assessments, interventions, and consultation within generic and specialised services. The role also involves working with management teams on service development and evaluation.
- To be responsible for the leadership of the delivery of highly specialist psychological therapy services to people experiencing their first episode of psychosis in EIIP.
- To provide clinical assessments, therapy, and consultation, as required, for clients who have been referred to, or are under the service.
- To support, supervise and develop the clinical and counselling psychology workforce in providing services within EIIP that may require change and the development of new ways of working in order to reflect national and local demands.
- To lead on projects, as agreed with the Consultant Psychologist and Associate Director of Therapies, collaborating appropriately with senior colleagues, which support the organisation's strategic direction and enhance service delivery.
