Job summary
Would you like to become a Band 6 Clinical Lead at The Meadows West Park Hospital, an inpatient ward for Older People (Epsom)
Based at Epsom, The Meadows is a single storey building in the grounds of the Noble Park housing development in the former West Park Hospital site. This is a 24/7 hospital service with 24 beds available for the care of people aged over 65 years who have dementia or organic mental ill-health (i.e. decreased function due to medical or physical disease, rather than a psychiatric illness).
There are three single sex wards, each with eight beds:
- One ward is for people with mental ill-health (functional, e.g bipolar or depression)
- Two wards are for people with dementia.
We are looking for a confident clinical lead to join our team and work as a fully integrated member of the multidisciplinary team providing direct care to people using our services.
We aim to develop positive relationships with the people who use our services, and their families and carers, adopting a pragmatic and non-judgmental approach and encourage and support individuals to participate in ways which support their individual recovery journey.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Be competent as appropriate to the requirements of the role.
- Be a Clinical Team Leader with evidence of detailed professional development and clinical knowledge.
- Have supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/ improvements.
- Demonstrate initiative and be creative in finding solutions to problems.
- Work with the Ward Manager undertaking delegated tasks in team management.
- Act as a role model for colleagues and others in relation to professional and personal conduct and practice.
- Ensure all policies and procedures relevant to the role are implemented and complied with.
- Be expected to participate fully in quality assurance initiatives.
- Ensure that regard is given to dignity, choice, self-esteem and well-being of people accessing services and carers.
