Job summary
The Children and Young People's Directorate in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to lead psychology in a Mindworks Surrey Children and Young Person's Community Team. You will be joining a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team based across Leatherhead and Redhill. Mindworks Surrey is the emotional wellbeing service for children and young people in Surrey.
The post-holder will be responsible for planning and delivering a highly specialist psychology service in a CYPS community Team. The post-holder will support the implementation of the i-Thrive framework for system change and will be working with other SABP and third sector organisations in doing so.
The post-holder will have substantial experience working in children's mental health and leading on service development. They will have a sound understanding of mental health challenges facing children and young people and expert knowledge of psychological interventions . They will have experience of adapting interventions to work with neurodiverse children. They will be committed to inclusive and accessible services. Knowledge and skills in supervision and outcome measures is essential.
The successful candidates will hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be eligible for registration with the HCPC.
Main duties of the job
- Leading psychology provision in Mindworks Surrey CYPS East Community Team
- Ensuring clinical supervision is provided to psychology staff.
- Standards of service provision are set, monitored and maintained.
- People who use the service and their carers are involved in the service in the way they wish to be.
- Providing high quality specialist psychological assessments, interventions and consultations for children and young people with complex and severe mental health problems.
- Working with CYPS Leadership on service development and evaluation.
- Practicing in a non-discriminatory and inclusive manner and responding to the needs of a diverse population of children and young people.
- Supporting supervisees and the MDT with recognising barriers to inclusion and making reasonable adjustments to practice.
