Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic Psychology Graduate to join our Trust-wide Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS). This is a substantive post (0.8WTE) and will primarily be based at our main service hub at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford.

The post holder will be joining what are well-established outpatient and day care facilities for working age adults with moderate to severe eating disorders.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to work in both outpatients and day care and will carry out a range of duties. These duties will include conducting audit, and appropriate clinical duties (e.g., the delivery of Guided Self Help under supervision, co-facilitating groups with a prescribed protocol, and contributing to meal supervision within day care). All duties will be undertaken with regular supervision from the qualified Clinical Psychologists and with additional support from other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has close links with the University of Surrey and the service often provides placements to the Clinical Doctorate course. The post is well suited to applicants interested in pursuing a career in clinical/counselling psychology.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will hold at least an upper second class psychology degree and will ideally have experience of working in the NHS, as well as in a mental health setting. In addition, an interest in the field of eating disorders, good communication skills and excellent IT skills are essential.

This role will require you to travel between multiple AEDS sites within your working day (in Guildford and Epsom), and occasionally also to other Trust sites.

We are actively seeking to improve the diversity of the team to better reflect the community served and especially welcome applications from BAME candidates and men.

Please contact Dr Rebecca Hibbs, Clinical Psychologist, (Tel: 01483 448020) if you wish to discuss this post.
