Job summary
This is an exciting new post created within our GP Integrated Mental Health Teams (GPimhs), as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation Programme (CMHTP) at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP).
We would welcome applicants who have a special interest in working with people with complex mental health needs within primary care, their carers and the wider systems around them. We are seeking a clinician who is a strong team player and can work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service as the transformation programme evolves.
We have two vacancies for Band 8a Senior Clinical Psychologists for the Primary Care Networks (PCNs) within the following two larger Integrated Care Provider (ICP) areas.
- Covering PCNs within the East Surrey ICP and Surrey Downs ICP
- Covering PCNs within the Northwest Surrey ICP and Guildford & Waverley ICP
The post-holder will be required to work flexibly within their respective area with a mix of face to face and virtual working and attendance at Trust HQ in Leatherhead as required.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for promoting the psychological health and well-being of clients in the GP Integrated Mental Health Service (GPimhs) and to provide specialist guidance, consultation and training to MDT members when required.
- To support the promotion of partnership working with Voluntary and Social Care agencies and the development of pathways between services.
- To clinically supervise Mental Health Practitioners and Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners and support the development of these roles within GPimhs
- To directly provide and co-ordinate staff support structures such as Reflective Practice and training opportunities for the wider MDT
- To deliver brief assessment, formulation and tailored evidence-based interventions to service users accessing GPimhs teams both individually and in groups and face to face or virtually as needed or appropriate.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development
