Job summary
You will be part of a professional team supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs to access and enjoy their Short Break at Jasmine House Short Breaks Service. You will be working closely with relatives, carers, friends, advocates, colleagues and other professionals.
This is a developmental role to support and develop you from a Support Worker to a Senior Support Worker and is suitable for someone who is passionate about ensuring a high-quality, holistic approach to the care and support provided to people with a learning disability.
Main duties of the job
To plan and lead shifts
Administer medication
To support individuals with all aspects of personal care
To support individuals to live their best life
To support individuals with Epilepsy and administer rescue medication when required
To support with key working including reviewing paperwork and attending reviews
To support individuals within the trust visions and values
To understand and know how to report safeguarding
To work closely with families, commissioners and day services/colleges
To support with clinical interventions ie PEG feed/medication, surface suction, nebuliser, oxygen, diabetes/insulin, catheter care
