Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated, committed crisis response and home treatment practitioners to cover night shifts for the East Surrey Home Treatment Service.
Our night shift begins at 8.00pm - 7.45am, and the post holder will work on a rota including weekends and bank holidays. The role is full time however part time options are also available.
This opportunity is open to registered Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers.
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner who can also work effectively as team player. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will be committed to the delivery of a high-quality service, working both independently and as part of a well-established, innovative and crisis response and home treatment team in meeting the needs of service users and their carers.
Qualified nurses (NMC) are currently benefiting from Retention Allowance. It is a 10% pay uplift on the top of HCAS Fringe payment.This premium issubject to a minimum total payment of £3,553 and a maximum total payment of £4,528 p.a. This will be paid on a monthly basis and pro-rata'd to hours worked.

Main duties of the job
Post holders will work within one of three hubs located in Redhill providing a single point of access for all emergency, urgent and routine referrals. As a Band 6 you will be working alongside both junior and senior practitioners. You will take a lead in coordinating shifts, delegating to other team members as well as liaising with other key stakeholders. You will be required to urgently respond to request for assessment and treatment of people experiencing a mental health crisis. You will work autonomously as well as an effective team member.
This is an integrated role in order to support the triage and/or rapid response as well as the Home Treatment elements of the service and the post holder will be responsible for creating an environment which is safe, supportive and an easily accessible with a no wrong door approach.
We aim to avoid individuals going to A&E departments unless there is a medical need and therefore the post whole will be working collaborative with Single Point of Access SPA & Safe Haven Redhill & Epsom. The candidate will have to supervise SPA junior staff and triage all "warm" transfers from 111 ( triage directly from 111).
As this role is based within a community setting we do require that you must be able to travel between multiple sites and trust locations within the set hours of your working day.
