Would you like to become a Clinical Team Leader at NW Community Mental Health Team for Older People, (Woking)

Based at Unither House in Chertsey, the CMHT Older People's service offers assessment, diagnosis, treatment and support for people over 65 who present with functional mental health illnesses; deterioration in cognition and/or dementia. We work closely with other services, such as social care and also with the voluntary sector, particularly the Alzheimer's Society, to provide positive support for people using services and their carers, ensuring effective forward signposting where appropriate.

We are looking for a confident nurse to help lead our team in the clinical aspects of delivering excellent care in order to maintain our high standards. We are committed to continuous learning and development and we will support you to develop/strengthen your leadership skills and clinical aspirations.

Main duties of the job

To promote positivity, can-do attitude and to enhance the experience of the team members and the people we serve.

Establish and embed a senior leadership team function for the service.

Responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote an environment of involvement and recovery.

Ensure that the agenda of social inclusion is reflected in interventions offered and implemented.

Responsible for the development of a high-quality service

Lead & motivate staff to provide a pro-active and responsive high-quality service, contributing to ongoing audit and evaluation.

Ensure that the necessary systems & protocols for the delivery of a safe & supportive service are in place, understood & adhered to throughout the Service.

Ensure that effective communications systems are established, maintained and monitored regularly within the Service & between the Teams & other services/agencies/partners.

Provide line management, for staff within the Service.

Ensure arrangements are in place for all service members to receive regular supervision, appraisal and have their personal development plans and training needs identified and where possible met.

Access and use information contained within the Trusts patient based information systems.

Lead and be responsible for ensuring that they and all team members fulfil our duties regarding Safeguarding Adults.

  • A clinical qualification to degree level or equivalent.
  • Membership of a professional body (NMC)
  • Mentor preparation, ENB 998 or equivalent, Specialist Practice Teacher or equivalent ENB 811, 812 or equivalent Community Nursing course
  • Supervisory skills

Desirable

  • Non medical Prescribing
  • Experience/ Interest/ skill in specialist work e.g. CBT, Psychosocial Interventions
  • Working knowledge of roles and disciplines within the primary care setting and relevant agencies

Experience

Essential

  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience working with people with MH needs, 2 of which must be at a Band 6 Community Mental Health experience
  • Experience of leading clinical practice / Experience working primary care

Desirable

  • Experience/ Interest/ skill in specialist work e.g. CBT, Psychosocial Interventions
