We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated doctor for the opportunity to work in a very dynamic team, The Hope service. This appointment is for a 0.7 WTE Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The duties of the doctor will be predominantly devoted to the care and treatment of children and young people (CYP under 18 years old) in our specialist service Hope.
Hope service is the equivalent of enhanced tier 3 and half outreach service to offer extra support to avoid hospital admissions and facilitating earlier discharges. The service is somewhat unique in the Country and made up of different branches including twoday programmes in Guildford and Epsom respectively and a respite place Ext Hope house.
The candidate should have certificate of completion of training or equivalent in CAMHS. The Candidate should have Approved Clinician status or working towards achieving it.
The team is integrated between health, social care and education and MDT includes psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and care coordinators both from health like nurses and social care, social workers.
Hope is also a registered school.
Main duties of the job
You will help coordinating care supporting care coordinators, lead clinical decision making and actively assessing and reviewing young people in crisis in acute hospitals, home visits, day programme, admission to hope house and interface with Tier 4. You may supervise senior and junior trainees also.

Essential
- MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
- Full medical registration with a license to practice.
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act(or within 6 to 12 months of the time of interview/assessment) or equivalent
Desirable
- Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications
- MRCPsych or equivalent
- Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills.
