Job summary
An opportunity as arisen to recruit a Drama Therapist for the Hope service Guildford
We are looking for a flexible, dynamic and motivated Drama Therapist with significant experience in working with challenging young people with mental health needs and complex backgrounds. You will work within a dedicated and supportive multi -professional team to provide group and individual sessions providing specialist Dramatherapy assessments and interventions as well as contributing to the therapeutic ethos and care and planning of all of the young people accessing the service.
In addition to direct work with the young people, the post holder will provide support, advise, therapeutic expertise and consultation to their colleagues within the team including the opportunity to facilitate support groups for colleagues.
The post holder will have opportunities to supervise a trainee Drama Therapist and other junior staff.
Clinical supervision will be provided, and the post holder will be a member of the Trust wide Arts Therapies network who have a commitment to offer continuing professional development.
You will be a trained Drama Therapist holding full HCPC and BADTH registration with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant field.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist therapeutic assessment and to inform planning and treatment for young people accessing the HOPE service, through Drama therapy interventions.
To supervise trainee Drama therapists and junior staff as required. To provide support, advice and training to member of the multi-disciplinary team working in partnership with voluntary and statutory services.
To support the therapeutic ethos of the Day Programme.

The Hope Service is a unique, innovative and exciting jointly funded service offering Health, Social care and Education provision to young people aged 11-18 years with complex mental health, social and behavioural difficulties living in Surrey. It provides outreach as well as a therapeutic day programme within a multi- disciplinary team of teachers, social workers, psychiatrists, community psychiatric nurses, creative Arts therapists, psychologists and activity workers.

We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.
