Job summary

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate your commitment to providing high quality care and counselling for depression at Step 3. You will be delivering counselling for depression using a stepped care model in line with the national IAPT programme and latest NICE guidance for psychological interventions. The role involves delivering one to one Counselling, Assessments and therapeutic groups.

You must demonstrate a commitment to Continuing Professional Development and be prepared to attend training in the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CFD) IAPT training at Metanoia with a desirable commitment to Mind Matters of 1.5years post training completion/award of qualification (not just attending the course).

The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Main duties of the job

Clinical

  • Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication
  • Able to write clear reports and letters to referrers
  • Demonstrates a passion for quality patient care and treatment
  • Ability to evaluate and put in place the effect of training
  • Experience of using a client information system, for example, IAPTus or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has received training (either formal of through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
  • Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
  • Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
