Job summary
This role will provide a specialist and advanced level of knowledge, provide strategic direction and expert advice in relation to resuscitation and medical emergency subjects to enhance the responsiveness and efficiency of care provision and the overall quality of patient care within all of the services. The role is the Trust subject matter expert to advise and deliver on statutory and mandatory training for all staff.
Main duties of the job
- Write, update and advise in relation to resuscitation/medical emergency policy and implementation of resulting training in all aspects of resuscitation (adult and paediatric) and associated subjects
- Work with the Head of Training to deliver the resuscitation skills programme to multi-professional staff across Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust
- 15hrs (2 days) a week as part of the training team in Education to deliver our Basic Life Support, and Immediate Life Support training or other clinical skills
- Facilitate the development and work with the Training coordination of training, (including Drills) both adult and paediatric, basic and immediate life support as appropriate to all staff throughout the Trust.
- Quality monitoring- ensuring compliance with Resuscitation council (UK)
- Take strategic lead for resuscitation related Audits
- Advising as required on the management of critical care of patients within the Trust
- Responsible, together with the Physical Health and Medical Emergency and Resuscitation steering Group for the supervision, review and audit of resuscitation procedures and equipment within the Trust
- To be resource to all disciplines concerning resuscitation procedures
- Take strategic lead to identify the different levels of resuscitation/medical emergency training and related subjects, assessing target audience descriptions and numbers annually
