An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to work in our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
The post offers a diverse range of experience working with people with complex mental health difficulties. You will join a friendly and supportive group of psychologists in the locality and there will be opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills through CPD. The trust has an enviable care pathways system which values Psychology, Psychotherapy and the Arts Psychotherapies. There are opportunities to train in DBT, CBT for psychosis, family interventions, CBT for personality disorders and structured clinical management.

This is a part-time role offering 15 hours per week (0.4 WTE).
Main duties of the job
Our PICU is a ward dedicated to the short-term management of people in an acute stage of mental health crisis who need an enhanced level of support relative to our general psychiatric wards.The successful candidate will provide assessment and treatment of complex cases and offer consultation and support to multi-disciplinary colleagues. This will include structured assessments, individual therapy, group facilitation, team formulation, indirect interventions, supervision, mentoring, and teaching and training.
As a Trust we pride our-selves on our innovative and collaborative approach to providing the highest quality, person-centered care. As an early implementer site for new models of care, we have a comprehensive primary care personality disorder services as well as established primary care MH teams working alongside GP practices. We are currently developing integrated care pathways across primary and secondary care.
