We have an exciting opportunity to join our dietetic team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Oncology Dietitian (1.0wte Band 7, 24 month fixed term). This newly created role is your chance to lead and shape a highly specialised dietetic service for oncology patients across North-West Surrey.
In this pivotal position, you will:
- Develop and deliver expert nutritional care for patients throughout their cancer pathway.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals and collaborate with local oncology and dietetic services.

While the role focuses primarily on outpatient care, you will also support oncology inpatients, providing continuity and specialist input across the entire pathway.

Main duties of the job
The post will take the lead in establishing this service and implement support to cancer patients across site and the Trust, delivering excellent care to this nutritionally vulnerable patient group. This role offers the chance to shape services, contribute to research, and develop professionally in a supportive environment. The postholder will be expected to participate in the following:
Lead in the development of a highly specialised nutrition and dietetics service for oncology patients at Ashford and St Peter's for their treatment and/or palliative care.
Joint working withRoyal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust - the regional cancer specialist centre and as part of the group model will be expected
To participate in data collection to measure activity and outcomes to support proof of concept
Work autonomously as the lead clinical specialists in the development and provision of a comprehensive nutrition and dietetic service to ASPH outpatient services and to other areas as and when required in response to service needs.
To liaise with all members of the Oncology MDT. This includes attendance at MDT meetings and any other relevant meetings.
The Trust is moving towards 7 day working and this post may be expected to participate in providing the Dietetic service across 7 days, including extended hours and weekend working
