Job summary
Come and join our expanding cardiology service. On our cardiology day ward, we currently offer angiography /angioplasty, complex device implant and an EP / Ablation service.
The role includes pre-assessment clinics, pre op. care, recovering patients post procedure and working within the catheter lab itself!
You will have had experience within an acute cardiology setting and be enthusiastic to learn and to develop new clinical skills. If you are an experienced nurse with a cath lab background with sound ECG knowledge, we need you!
You must enjoy working in a busy environment and be a true team player. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide excellent clinical care to those patients pre and post cardiac procedures, including diagnostic coronary angiogram, permanent pacemakers, PCI, ablations and complex devices. The post holder will work with the consultants, support the Lead Nurse and assist in the line management of junior team members.
The post holder will be expected to work within the catheter lab itself as both a circulating nurse or as a scrub nurse.
The nurse will be the patient advocate during the procedure and will assist the members of the multidisciplinary team as requested.
The post holder will ensure that high quality nursing care is delivered within the cardiology day ward.
